Colonel (Ret.) Joseph W. Mercuri was a proud member of the Army National Guard for 33 years, achieving the rank of Colonel. He was part of the 26th Yankee Infantry Division and Director of the Public Affairs at the Joint Force Headquarters of the Massachusetts National Guard. He was also a member of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company. Col. (Ret.) Mercuri had a Bachelor’s degree in business, with a Master’s in education. He was also an active member of First Baptist Church of Malden, MA and a monthly participant in the Feeding Ministry of the church as well. Joseph was the owner of Massachusetts Beauty & Barber Supply Company for over 43 years.
Today, we remember his passing a year ago on July 20, 2020. The Mercuri family and the brothers and sisters in First Baptist Church of Malden, MA. quietly remember and will always cherish Joseph’s friendly Christian demeanor as a father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
The Colonel or “Joe” as we often address him in church, left this patriotic message about the American flag. Thought this reflects his love of country whom he served for so many years.
